Ghanaian musician, Mzbel, says she is not controversial as perceived by media.
In an interview on e.TV Ghana’s ‘The Late Nite Celebrity Show‘, she said, “I have never in my life thought or decided that I’m going to say this for people to talk about me. Honestly, when they started saying that, I did not even know what controversial meant until recently,” she said.
She believes that nobody would want to ignite anything that would attract insults from the public.
“I will never sit down and plan that let me go and say this for people to attack me because the controversy comes with insults. Who will sit down and plan controversy that will get people to insult them, ” she said.
She, however, said that she is an open-minded person and she always frees her mind during interviews.
“It’s like we are having a conversation right now. I’m excited and enjoying the conversation then I’ll free my mind and the next thing people are like how could you say this,” she explained.
She agreed with the host that it is the public that makes her seem controversial and not her deliberate actions.
“So it’s not you trying to do that, people are trying to make you seem to like that?” the host Foster asked.
“I think so, that is what it is,” Mzbel answered.
Since the release of her first album ‘Awosome’ in 2004, she has been associated with one controversy after another from her sense of dressing to the things she says.
