Ghanaian highlife musician D-Flex has expressed his surprise at hearing his mentor call him selfish and a hypocrite.
On Happy FM’s Ayekoo after drive show with DJ Advicer, he said, “I was very surprised when I heard he said that I’m selfish and a hypocrite because out of all the young ones groomed by KK Fosu, I am the only one who mentions him and show appreciation during my interviews, most of my fans can testify to this. In my interviews, I accord my gratitude to God and KK Fosu for my break in the music industry and even for me to travel to America was through KK Fosu so why would he say that.”
Even though the musician is not happy hearing KK say those words, he still believes he may have said those due to his unawareness on how much he has shown appreciation to him during all the interviews he has granted as a result of KK’s absence from the country at some points.
“Maybe he was out of the country when I was praising him during my interviews so he didn’t hear any of them but I can tell you that I am the one out of all the young ones he groomed who talks about all the good things he has done for me so I was surprised hearing that,’ he stated.
Real name, Abubakar Alhassan has couple of collaborations with some of the country’s mainstream musicians under his belt; talk of featuring on his mentor K.K. Fosu’s ‘Number 1’. He did a beautiful verse in Hausa on the song to make it more appealing and soothing to the ear.
He has ‘Nasake’ as one of his hit songs.
