A leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communication team, Chief Biney has appealed to Ghanaians to forgive Alban Bagbin, for his damming comments against the appointment of two persons with disabilities during the John Mahama led administration.
Chief Biney described the comments made by the party’s flagbearer’s hopeful as ‘loose talk’ and ‘unfortunate’, and that he [Biney] would not be enthused to comment on.
Speaking to Happy FM’s Joseph Nii Ankrah at the party’s headquarters at Adabraka on Thursday, the vibrant communicator said, “To be honest with you, it’s a statement that I will not like to comment on because it’s very unfortunate.”
He added that the Second Deputy speaker of Parliament’s comments does not hold water and must be forgiven for such statements.
“Even in Ghana’s Parliament, we are fighting hard to ensure that we increase the monies we use for people with disability. So if somebody has that kind of malfunctioning how do you go and talk about it in politics? it doesn’t gel, it doesn’t sell. I think we must forgive him and leave that issue. I mean it’s a bad one, very a bad one.”
Mr. Bagbin reportedly attributed the poor performance of the previous National Democratic Congress government in the last Presidential and Parliamentary elections to the appointment of the two disabled person’s; Ministers, a stammerer Dr. Omane Boamah and Dr. Seidu Danaa, a blind person.
