The Tamale Teaching Hospital staff are refusing to admit new patients until their requests of the arrest the Kandahar Boys, an unqualified apology from the perpetrators and a citing of a Police Station in the premises of the Teaching Hospital to ensure the safety of the staff of the Hospital are met.
Speaking on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’, Abdul Rashid Haidallah, Chairman of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) Tamale Branch, admits that the Tamale Teaching Hospital is the only Tertiary facility taking care of the three Northern regions but they will continue to turn new patients away until their safety is assured.
When the host of the show, Kwame Afrifa-Mensah, asked the Tamale Branch Chairman of GRNMA to temper justice with mercy, he said they have had similar occurrences and nothing was done about it so they will have to go on with the strike until all their grievances are met.
He however assured Ghanaians that, they will continue to treat the old patients since they have an existing contract with them.
This development is as a result of the Kandahar Boys attack on the Hospital’s CEO Dr David Akobilah.
