A group calling itself ‘Save Ghana Now Guild (SGNG)’,an affiliate of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has declared it full support to Professor Kwesi Botchwey who will be contesting the Presidential Primaries of the NDC, come December 7, 2018.
According to the group, it arrived at this decision based on a research they have conducted across the length and breadth of this country.
“SGNG has painstakingly arrived at this decision after an extensive research conducted across the country and being privy to other political research findings by political think tanks in the country.”
They also added that, Ghanaians have lost hope in governance especially in the John Mahama and Nana Addo led governments.
“Majority of Ghanaian youth has lost hope and trust in the leadership of the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo led NPP administration, and the immediate past leadership of the NDC under John Dramani Mahama.”
Last week, Information that was available to happyghana.com indicated that Prof. Botchwey had confirmed that he will be contesting in the upcoming Presidential primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

SGNG SUPPORTS PROFESSOR KWESI BOTCHWEY
(SGNG), a broad based national youth group has welcome with gladness and joy the decision by Professor Kwesi Botchwey to contest the Presidential Primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), come December 7, 2018.
SGNG has therefore pledged its support and commitment to this noble course to work in the trenches to realise this collective ambition so as to restore HOPE and INTEGRITY to Ghana’s body politics.
SGNG has painstakingly arrived at this decision after an extensive research conducted across the country and being privy to other political research findings by political think tanks in the country. The outcome of these findings was definitely conclusive. The NDC remains the most loved political party but has lost the moral character and credibility under the previous leadership. The surest way of assuming political power in 2020 is to offer a lead-leader, who is politically unblemished, demonstrates and inspires hope, has high emotional intelligence and maturity to unify the NDC for victory, and above all, a person who has a provable track record of high competence to deliver on the job. SGNG after analysing all the potential aspirants for 2020 could not find these qualities in any of them except in Professor Kwesi Botchwey.
Majority of Ghanaian youth have lost hope and trust in the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo led NPP administration, and the immediate past leadership of the NDC under John Dramani Mahama. Restoring these hope and trust does not require a repetition of the same narrative, and just a new face. It will require a face of proven integrity and a demonstrated record and legacy that inspires hope and trust.
SGNG is of a strong conviction that Professor Kwesi Botchwey will offer a leadership that is built on a team of a blend of different generational knowledge but empowering the youth to lead in building their future Ghana underpinned with moral and social democratic values and ethics that sustain national development.
SGNG is therefore urging well-meaning Ghanaian youth in NDC and in Ghana to roll up their sleeves and work in the trenches in actualising our collective hopes. SGNG has no desilke for anyone: we simply love Ghana our Motherland hence our desire and strong commitment to RESTORING INTEGRITY TO GOVERNANCE.
