Hiplife artiste Paa Dogo has expressed his displeasure with Ghana musicians not helping their colleagues when the need arises.
He recounted on the e.TV Ghana’s entertainment talk show, The Late Nite Celebrity Show how he never put his hope in anyone but God when he realized nobody from the music industry was willing to help.
“One thing humans should learn is that you can’t put your hope in people because they will disappoint you, it’s only God who can touch someone’s heart to help you.”
According to him the best any musician will do for another will be providing money for their transportation.
“What will you go to another musician for, to have him help you or what? All they’ll give you is something small for transportation,” he said.
He further went on to say, “I’ve never heard any musician help another to rise, it’s just a handful who have done that, because I’ve never heard of Amakye Dede producing anyone before neither have I ever seen Kojo Antwi produce anyone before. Even Lumba, I’ve never heard of him producing anyone before. It’s just recently I heard he featured Borax and the rest.”
He made an appeal for the issue to be discussed and changed for the better so that they all help each other and not feel like a nuisance when one musician in need wants to approach others for help like he did.
He then made an appeal to the musicians especially to the veterans to help make the industry better by helping the young once.
“I don’t understand, its something we must talk about in the Ghana Music Industry. One musician must help another. I never felt the urge to go to anyone for help because I know what he or she also went through to get there,” he said.
Paa Dogo was one of the pioneers of ‘The Last Two’ music record label owned by Da’ Hammer.
