Founder and general overseer of the Anointed Palace Chapel, Reverend Obofuor has taken an indirect jab at gospel musician Ernest Opoku whiles justifying his recent performances of secular songs in his church.
Rev. Obofuor who is well known for singing Shatta Wale’s songs during one of his church services has said that most of Shatta Wale’s songs have better content than the mainstream gospel songs.
He went ahead to describe the dancehall artiste as the nation’s preacher since according to him; he touches on significant issues that gospel songs don’t tackle.
The content of most gospel songs according to the man of God are boring and he needs songs that he can dance to, those that will help his congregation burn calories so they are not knocked down by stroke.
“Who is a gospel artiste? The message in the song is the most important thing. Dances performed in the clubs are also right here in church,” he said.
In the process of making his submission threw an indirect jab at gospel musician Ernest Opoku for his recent sexual scandal involving Kumawood actress NAYAS when he suggested what the big deal was in enjoying Shatta Wale’s songs when even those who call themselves gospel musicians are involved in sexual immoralities.
“Is Shatta Wale not a human being? Those who call themselves gospel musicians are engaging in sexual immorality,” he added.
Rev. Obofuor recently gave out brand new cars to some hardworking members of his church.
Claiming to own 14 companies the Rev has said that, before he became a pastor he was a businessman.
“I have over 14 to 15 serious Companies, I’m not joking, I don’t make my money from Church.” Rev Obofuor said this after giving a brand new car to Anti Bee of popular television drama series ‘Efiewura’ Fame.
He recently caught the attention of social media after showcasing his new Rolls Royce car.
