Ace Ghanaian actor Adjetey Anang has waded into the change of name for the Ghana Movie Industry debate.
Adjetey who is popularly known in a TV series “Things we do for love” as ‘Pusher’ on e.TV Ghana’s ‘The Late Nite Celebrity Show’ expressed his views on the name that was given to the Ghana Movie Industry.
According to Anang, a name for the Ghana Movie Industry is not necessary today what is important now is creating of content that can identify us as Ghanaians.
Speaking to Foster Romans, host of the show, he said, “Content is key for me it is not even the name, you can give it all the names in the whole world, even the best names but if you are lacking content, it is still not going to be recognized.”
He stated that “what we should brand is our content, that identifies us as a people, as Ghanaians, as Africans – if you like-. The quality of that for me should stand out first, names can come after.”
Anang stressed that if a name is to be given to the industry it should be well informed and it should be something that is connected to the Ghanaian history or story.
