Some Ministers of State and MP’s have signed up to join the Ghana Olympic Committee to celebrate this year’s Olympic Day in Accra.
Hon Ofori Asiamah(Transport), Hon. Tina Mensah (Deputy-Health), Hon Vincent Odotei Sowah (Deputy-Communications), Dr. Zanetor Rawlings (MP-Klottey Korle), Nii Lantey Vanderpuye (MP-Odododiodoo), Alfred Oko Vanderpuije (MP-Ablekuma South) and others will join the about 1000 participants drawn from Keepfit Clubs, Schools, Supporter Groups and the general public who will Walk/Run from the Martyrs of Uganda Basic Schools to the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 6am where President of the GOC, Mr Ben Nunoo Mensah and Sports Minister Hon. Isaac Asiamah will deliver the Olympic Day Celebration and Solidarity messages.
The International Olympic Committee created the Olympic Day as an event to commemorate the establishment of the Olympics and also to educate the sport loving people and the society about Olympism.
The Olympic Day is a festive event bringing together people of all ages and background. The activities must be linked to Olympism and its promotion.
This year’s celebration is on the theme : Move, Learn and Discover.
