
Powerlifter Ebenezer Nii Armah shrugged off stiff opposition to emerge the biggest winner of the maiden national Arm Wrestling championship staged by the Ghana Armwrestling Federation.
Ebenezer showed strength, power and style to come up tops as he walked home with brand new silver wrist watch worth $490 from the president of the Armwrestling federation Charles Osei Asibey.
He also took home prizes from the sponsors for winning the 120kg.
The program which was sponsored by Rush Energy drink, Kasapreko, Vita Milk, Pac Mineral water was graced by Dr Emmanuel Owusu Ansah, a rep of the Sports ministry, GOC president Ben Nunoo Mensah, Ghana Beach Soccer president Yaw Ampofo Ankrah and a host of respected personalities in the sporting fraternity.
Charles Osei Assibey congratulated the winners and also hailed the effort of the other competitors.
He lauded the media for their contribution in the development and promotion of the 10-month old sport and also called on corporate Ghana to help develop armwresting in Ghana.
