George Afriyie dumps calls for local players quota for Black Stars

Ghana Football Association vice president George Afriyie says suggestions that there should be a quota for locally-based players in the Black Stars are misplaced.
Ghana’s Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah at his vetting by Parliament’s Appointments Committee stated that there should be allocated slots for locally-based players in the Black Stars to boost the Ghana Premier League.
But George Afriyie who doubles as chairman of the Black Stars management committee thinks otherwise.
”I disagree with the sports minister in his call for a quota for local players into the Black Stars,” he told Sikka.
