Ghanaian rapper, Guru, has shaded Charterhouse, the organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), for overlooking his contribution to the growth of the music industry.
His comments come the heels of the trending Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale fracas during the just ended VGMAs.
Guru feels that he deserves countless awards for his relentless effort yet, Charterhouse has prevented this from happening.
In a tweet he wrote: “You guys been doing same to me for the past 10yrs of my career, always coming out with funny reasons after every VGMA refusing to acknowledge the hard work I put in. Been my own self producer for the past 10yrs without any investor but always doing a great job for y’all”
It can be recalled that, Guru withdrew from the 2017 VGMAs. But after some few days of deciding not to contest in the award scheme, he and his management changed their mind again and expressed interest in competing. However, his return to the scheme did not earn him a single plaque.
