As part of activities leading to the Happy FM Valentine Renewal of Vows Day, the couples will tomorrow 4th February be treated to a fun-packed day at Rawlings Park including a Cooking Contest for the husbands to exhibit their prowess in the kitchen. The event, which is sponsored by Onga, will see the women engage in other in-door games to relax in-wait of their partner’s dishes.
Programmes Manager for Happy FM, Kwasi Sarpong, explained “even though they are already married, this cooking contest is to test the culinary skills of the grooms. The idea is to demystify the perception that cooking in marriage is a sole preserve of women,’’ adding that, “we also want to keep the couples relaxed and entertained as they relive and reminisce exciting moments in their marriages.’’
Mr. Sarpong continued that these activities go a long way to promote friendship and togetherness amongst the couples. In so doing, not only do they acquire new families but they also walk away with new friends and amazing experiences which stay with them for life”.
Come February 14, 30 past couples of the annual Happy FM Valentine Mass Wedding dating back from the year 2007 will have the opportunity to renew their vows in front of family, friends and sympathizers at a special dinner night at Cleaver House, Accra.
