They are often fluent in speech and sleek on screen. The question of whether those qualities will be enough for some of Ghana's top actors when the attempt to dribble their way past and beat some of the nation’s best-known football administrators at their own game is waiting for answers.
The answer will come Sunday, July 31 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi when a select side of actors meet football administrators in a fund-raising fun match organised by Swanzy Essuman’s Koba Consult.

Two of the nation’s young and brilliant actors, Eddie Nettey and Foster Owusu-Amponsah, will display how funny they can be on stage when they team up with other members of the Globe Theatre Group to put up a play titled ‘Gallery of Comedies’, at the National Theatre on Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24.
Both young men are graduates of the School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana, Legon.
Eddie has been fairly active on the cinema screens but is also a real gem on stage. Foster is gradually carving a name for himself in the comedy circuit and is a regular on ‘Laugh a Minute’ on Viasat 1 as well as the comedy shows at the Citizen Kofi Entertainment Centre.
Yvonne Nelson Steps Up Glaucoma Campaign

Star actress Yvonne Nelson is leaving no stone unturned in her quest to create awareness on glaucoma and its negative impact on society.
She is offering a two-week fully-paid holiday trip to the UK to entice Ghanaian students to join her in the fight against glaucoma. Her glaucoma foundation, which was launched last October to raise awareness and educate people about the ailment, has introduced a Glaucoma Essay Competition among students across the country.

The Ghana Actors’ Guild (GAG) has warned unscrupulous individuals and organisations calling themselves producers or production houses to desist from collecting monies from actors.
A press release signed by Abeiku Sagoe, General Secretary of GAG, said there were some unscrupulous individuals and organisations inviting young and largely naive actors for auditions, and charging them illegal fees with promises for productions that invariably do not materialize.

One of Ghana’s leading gospel musical groups, No Tribe, was the biggest winner at the maiden edition of the Ghana Gospel Industry Awards held at the National Theatre in Accra, as the group grabbed the Artiste of the Year, Album of the Year and Popular Video of the Year awards.
The leader of the group, Nacy, also won the Male Vocalist of the year, Gospel Sound Engineer of the year and Gospel Producer of the Year awards.
