Stand-in Twenty20 captain Graeme Swann said England still have plenty to work on despite finishing a dismal tour with a six-wicket victory over India.

After losing the one-day series 5-0, England won the Twenty20 international in Kolkata with eight balls to spare. "It's been a very tough month, we have played some abjectly horrible cricket until today," said Swann.

John Inverarity named as Australia s national selector Cricket

Former Test batsman John Inverarity has been named as Australia cricket's full-time national selector.

The 67-year-old replaces Andrew Hilditch, who lost his job in Augustafter a review which followed the Test team's 3-1 Ashes defeat at home. "John's been an outstanding contributor to cricket as a captain, player, coach, selector and mentor," said Cricket Australia chief James Sutherland.

Sri Lanka faced high capital costs for its part in hosting the 2011 Cricket World Cup

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has confirmed that the national cricketers have not been paid their salaries for months.

About 100 contracted players are not paid since Sri Lanka co-hosted the World Cup together with India and Bangladesh. The capital expenditure on the recent World Cup left the country's richest sports body facing a sizeable debt.
