47 year old Sheikh Mohammed Awal, who says he is an Islamic scholar and a true zongo boy, claims New Patriotic Party flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo’s dream of becoming president is only possible with him as running-mate.

He wants Nana Addo to trash his list of potential candidates and pick him or risk defeat the second time.

Sheikh Mohammed Awal who stormed the studios of Joy FM Thursday, to defend his application to partner Nana Addo, said some who are pushing to be Nana Addo’s running mate do not have the ability to deliver.

He said he was born at Nima in Accra, an ordinary person who has been in Islamic institutions and become a Sheikh, Imam and preaching for about 25 years and a politician who wants to change the lot of his people for the better and believes it is time people of the zongos and northern Ghana are given their due recognition. He will help deliver victory to the NPP and return it to power.
