Sound Engineer Prince Nana Poku, popularly known as Ashes, has bemoaned the dwindling fortunes of the Ghana music industry.
Speaking on Showbiz Xtra with Dr. Cann on Happy FM, Ashes revealed that most pubs, clubs and restaurants are being forced to play Nigerian songs when the Nigerians come to purchase Drinks and food but they don’t do same there.
“If you go to a Nigerian club, they don’t place premium on Ghanaian songs. You will hear them play only one or two Ghanaian music by Sarkodie and Stonebwoy. We should also reduce the frequency with which we play Nigerian songs. ” He lamented.
This call comes to buttress that of managers, musicians and producers who are calling on the Radio/Tv presenters, DJs and Blogger’s (Gatekeepers) handling the industry to Help bring back life into the dying music industry.
He added that the downward trends of Ghanaian music has affected sales and the artistes as well.
