Bechem United wing back, Abdul Bashiru has revealed that the astonishing goal he scored from direct from a corner kick against Hearts of Oak in midweek was no fluke.
Speaking to Happy FM’s Chaskele, Abdul Bashiru intimated that his goal against Hearts of Oak was not his first goal from a direct corner kick and he nearly even scored from a similar situation in the game.
“My goal wasn’t a fluke because before the goal, I had early attempted it but unfortunately for me, the goalkeeper saved it but for the, I saw him off his line so I decided to go for glory and I got it right.” Bashiru told Happy FM.
The goal was hugely believed to be fluke by scores of fans who came to watch the game but the former Accra Hearts of Oak utility player admitted that scoring from that position has been his stock in trade since childhood.
He further made it clear that ,this is his second goal from a corner kick ,the first one was during his playing day with Dreams FC at the Ashalley Botwe park in the Division Two league .
Abdul Bashiru’s talk of the town goal was the second goal for Bechem United but unfortunately they were trounced the 4-2 by the Phobians at the Accra Sports Stadium.
