Daniel Amartey’s Leicester City have made it two wins from two in the Champions League this season courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Porto this evening.
Record signing Islam Slimani scored the only goal of the game in the first half to continue the Foxes’ fairytale in their first ever Champions League home game.
Amartey played full duration of the game to secure a vital win over Porto as they continue their first ever Champions League campaign with two straight wins.
Slimani opened the scoring in the 25th minute by nodding compatriot Riyad Mahrez’s cross home for the first ever Champions League goal at the King Power.
It was Slimani’s third headed goal in his last two home appearances for the Foxes, and his sixth goal in just four meetings with Porto this calendar year.
Leicester held on for an historic victory over the two-time European champions to maintain their spot at the top of Group G with six points from a possible six.
Porto, meanwhile, remain on just one point and are now winless in 17 visits to England in European competition.
