The FA have revealed that Paul Pogba has been suspended for Manchester United’s first game of the season.
Having joined for £89 million last week, many Red Devils fans were looking forward to seeing the midfielder in action against Bournemouth on Sunday.
However, they will now have to wait until at least August 19, and their clash with Southampton.
It could be an even longer hold-up, with the 23-year-old likely to be rested after being in action for France at Euro 2016.
According to the FA, the midfielder is suspended for one match after being given two yellow cards during Juventus’ Coppa Italia campaign last season.
This has transferred to England, and will be served on the opening weekend of the Premier League.
